Boom Rock Dogs
Ohariu Farm
Our Farm is located in Ohariu Valley - and although it's just 10 minutes from Johnsonville it seems a world away from the city.
With 25 acres of fully fenced farmland to explore, your dog can enjoy a day off leash, soaking up the sights and sounds of the countryside.
Your dog will spend the day exploring the farm and playing in a small group with an experienced dog handler.
This option is ideal for very active dogs aged 1+.

Facilities
The highlight of Ohariu Farm is the acres and acres of natural farmland to explore. There's also a bath house for a rinse at the end of the day.
Although the dogs and our team are happiest out on the land, Ohariu Farm also has plenty of shelter for hot or wild weather days.
We have three shelters on the hills with seating for breaks while out walking, the Black Hut for small groups, and Cobblers Barn where the whole crew takes a break together at lunchtime.
The site is fully fenced. Our fences are 1.8 m high and constructed with cattle-grade mesh. The mesh is buried into the ground to prevent digging . The site is double-gated and the front gate is padlocked internally while we are in session.

Getting there and back
Our pick up and drop home service is free.
We’re open Monday to Friday. We’ll collect your dog from your home, garden or workplace between 7.30 - 9.30am and return them between 2.30pm – 4.30pm.
Read our travel info If you're going to be out when we come to collect or drop your dog off, we can easily make access arrangements. Please ensure your dog has a collar with a name tag on for pickup. If you'd like your dog to travel in a harness that's fine - but they should have a collar on too - we remove harnesses on arrival so your dog can play freely. Our utes are custom fitted with secure, covered farm dog crates so your dog can take in the view while we pick up their buddies and drive through the countryside. Dogs travel in pairs - no single crates are available. Sorry but you're not unable to drop off and pick up your dog from our farm. It's on a small country road and we need to minimise traffic as part of our consent.
Getting amongst it
We operate whatever the weather.
We'll rinse your dog in our dog wash-house and towel dry them before they come home after their adventure.
If your dog has a thin coat or fur that stays wet once it gets wet you might want to invest in a dog jacket.
For the safety of your dogs and our staff we may call a day off or pack up a little earlier in extreme weather conditions. Otherwise we get stuck in and happily smash about in whatever Mother Nature throws at us.

Pricing
It costs $69 for your dog to have an amazing day out at Ohariu Farm.

Worming programme
Because Ohariu Farm operates in a rural area we are required to manage a monthly worming regime for all dogs that come on to the property.
Please take a minute to read about our on-farm worming programme and what it means for you and your dog :
This requirement doesn't apply to our other daycare sites.
Health
Please read our health guidelines for Ohariu Farm The terrain at the Ohariu Farm and the level of activity means it is suited to dogs over 1 year old. For dogs with mobility or joint issues we would recommend Nature Park instead. All dogs coming on to the property must be desexed, pre-wormed, and fully vaccinated. Vaccinations include : Parvo, Distemper, Hepatitis and Kennel Cough, with an annual booster shot for Kennel Cough. Your dog should also be flea-treated regularly, and ideally be registered with your local council. We recommend getting health insurance for your dog.
Behaviour
Please read our behaviour guidelines for Ohariu Farm Your dog will need to be social (they will be sharing a cage in the ute). They must have basic obedience skills such as sit, come and wait. We take a range of sizes from Huskies all the way down Jack Russell's at Ohariu Farm and encourage (and expect) them all to mix with safe, social play. Due to noise restrictions, dogs who bark persistently may not be able to attend. Aggressive or dominant dogs are unfortunately not suited to any Boom Rock Dogs site.
Breed & size restrictions
Please read our breed and size restrictions for Ohariu Farm We don't take Pitbulls, Mastiffs, Staffies, Rottweilers, Bull Terriers, Dogue De Bordeaux, Ridgebacks, Shar Pei, Dobermans, or German Shepherds. Please don't be offended - from our years of experience we find that these breeds just don't work in our busy, enclosed space with lots of other dogs. We have limited availability for large dogs over 35kgs.
