Nature Park

Welcome to Nature Park - our beautiful interactive park designed just for dogs.  An action packed full day awaits dogs that love to work and explore.

Nature Park is perfect for small to medium breeds, and is our gateway to Ohariu Farm for younger dogs.

Dogs range in age from 16 weeks to senior - there's something at Nature Park for every age and stage.

Getting there and back

Our pick up and drop home service is free.

We’re open Monday to Friday.

We’ll collect your dog from your home, garden or workplace between 7.30 - 9.30am and return them between 2.30 – 4.30pm.

See more travel details here If you'll be out when we come to collect or drop your dog off, we can easily make access arrangements. Please ensure your dog has a collar with a name tag on for pickup. If you'd like your dog to travel in a harness that's fine - but they should have a collar on too - we remove harnesses on arrival so your dog can play freely.  Our vans are custom fitted with cages and a raised floor so your dog can take in the view while we pick up their buddies. Dogs travel in pairs, threes or fours depending on their size - no single crates are available. Sorry but you're not unable to drop off and pick up your dog at Nature Park. Visitors = barking and we need to minimise noise for our neighbours.

Puppies

We take puppies at Nature Park from 16+ weeks old once they've had their full course of puppy vaccinations.

We can feed your pup a midday meal and after lunch they'll have a wee nap with their handler.

There's a seperate puppy area at Nature Park to introduce your dog to daycare before they mingle with the older dogs.

Seniors and shy dogs

Nature Park is also a great space for larger breed mobility-restricted or senior dogs - keep those old bones moving and get the senses going.

Dogs who are a little more reserved can hang out with the Nature Park team while they do odd jobs and maintain the gardens. Plenty of cuddles and reassurance available if needed !

Getting amongst it

We operate whatever the weather.

If your dog has a thin coat or fur that stays wet once it gets wet you might want to invest in a dog jacket.

Jackets that cover the chest and under the tummy, and are lightweight are great. Most importantly they need to be the right size and comfortable to play in.

Pricing

It costs $61.20 for your dog to have an amazing day out at Nature Park.

At Boom Rock Dogs we are committed to delivering customer service at the highest level and providing the very best dog daycare and facilities in Wellington.

As standard we offer a 5% discount for dogs attending 3+ days per week.

Health

Please read our health requirements for Nature Park Male dogs must be desexed by 8 months old. Female dogs can't attend while on heat. Every dog must be fully vaccinated.  Vaccinations include : Parvo, Distemper, Hepatitis and Kennel Cough, with an annual booster shot for Kennel Cough. Your dog should also be flea-treated regularly, and ideally be registered with your local council.  We recommend getting health insurance for your dog.

Behaviour

Please read our dog behaviour requirements for Nature Park Your dog will need to be social (they will be sharing a cage in the van). Dogs 6+ months should have basic obedience skills (or be working towards them) such as sit, come and wait. Just let us know if you need support with your dogs training. Due to noise restrictions, dogs who bark persistently may not be able to attend Nature Park. Aggressive or overly dominant dogs are unfortunately not suited to any Boom Rock Dogs site. We monitor young males for emerging mating behaviour and will let you know if you dog needs to be desexed before 8 months old.

Breed & size restrictions

Please read our breed and size restrictions for Nature Park We don't take Pitbulls, Mastiffs, Staffies, Rottweilers, Bull Terriers, Dogue De Bordeaux, Ridgebacks, Shar Pei, Dobermans, or German Shepherds. Please don't be offended - from our years of experience we find that these breeds just don't work in our busy, enclosed space with lots of other dogs.   The maximum weight guide at Nature Park is 25kg, except for senior dogs where the guide is 30kg.
